Minnesota PTA Reflections Program Rules
  • Each PTA unit may submit no more than twenty-four (24) entries to the MN PTA.
  • Those 24 entries are to be split between the six art categories with no more than four (4) from each art area.  If a unit represents more than one age group they may still send only four entries in each art area and must determine their own method of selecting how to represent the various age groups.  (For example, a K-5 school would have two age groups, Primary and Intermediate, and might choose to send two entries from each age group in a given art area.)
  • Entries may only be submitted to the MN PTA by a PTA unit "in good standing", which means they have at least 20 members and dues and up-to-date bi-laws have been submitted to the state office.
  • Entries will not be accepted directly from students at either the State or National level.
  • Every entry must have a completely filled out OFFICIAL ENTRY FORM secured to the back of the artwork.  Signatures are required on these forms. Hint:  Plastic page protectors taped to the back of the entry make great sleeves for the entry form!
  • Entries are due to MN PTA by February 6, 2009.  Along with the artwork, the PTA Unit Entrants form MUST be completed and sent to the MN PTA:

"List of Entrants" --- a list of the entries you are forwarding to the state PTA and a summary of participation in this year's program.

  • Keep a copy for yourself of all the forms sent to the state PTA. Entries must be either delivered or mailed to:

Minnesota PTA Reflections Program

1667 Snelling Ave. N.
St. Paul, MN 55108

  • State judging results will be mailed to all participating Reflections chairs by the end of March.  Winning entrants will also receive a letter from the MN PTA inviting them to the awards ceremony, which is usually held in April.  Local units are encouraged to financially support winning families who attend the ceremony with full or partial travel reimbursement.  All MN PTA First Place entries are sent to National PTA for further judging.  National winners are announced by early May.
  • The artwork will be available for pick up at the state Reflections Ceremony in AprilIf a representative from your PTA unit or community is not able to pick it up at that time, you will be responsible for making other arrangements to have your artwork returned to you.  Literature and Music entries sent to the National PTA are NOT returned.  Art and Photography entries sent to the National PTA will be returned following completion of the virtual exhibit.
  • "Theme Search" entries are due November 15.  See the form for that in the back of this packet.  It may be copied and distributed to students.
