The Minnesota Say Yes to No campaign is in full swing. Our statewide conversations, based on Dr. David Walsh’s book No: Why Kids – of All Ages – Need to Hear It and Ways Parents Can Say It, began with a book but really are about success for our kids. By now, PTA units should have received the coalition kit and DVD. We hope you join the campaign, watch the DVD and strategize ways to make Say Yes to No part of your school and community.
Minnesota PTA is excited to be a founding member of Minnesota Say Yes to No, a statewide coalition led by the National Institute on Media and the Family and its founder, Dr. Walsh. Yes, this campaign is all about Minnesota kids’ success in school and in life. Parents and educators, using the strategies of No, can instill critical character traits in our children, such as self-discipline and respect, which are the stepping stones to that success.
Now is the time to put Say Yes to No to work for you and the kids in your life. The Say Yes to No Web site is the meeting hub for communities statewide. Visit www.SayYestoNo.org to find materials to help you start a Say Yes to No conversation, a helpful blog full of tips, and other people who are interested in reclaiming parenting strategies that work—just like you!
