Minnesota PTA proposed updates to the Local Unit Universal Bylaws for consideration at the Minnesota PTA Leadership Summit on April 11, 2026. These amendments were passed and are effective immediately.
Changes will:
Provide clearer guidance and stronger protections for local PTA units
Ensure compliance with current state & federal laws
Align local unit bylaws with Minnesota PTA and National PTA requirements
Why this matters for your PTA:
Helps protect your PTA’s nonprofit status
Makes it easier for local leaders to operate confidently and in compliance
Allows PTAs to spend less time navigating governance questions and more time advancing the PTA mission of supporting children, families, and schools.
