All PTAs in Minnesota must be filed with the MN Secretary of State under Chapter 317A, and renew their registration annually. This registration keeps you in GOOD STANDING with the state of Minnesota as long as you maintain active status.
PTA's must be filed using the MN PTA Articles of Incorporation when they first register.
There are no fee to file a renewal, however there are fees associated with your intitial filing and other filings.
Please confirm any organizational changes with Minnesota PTA prior to submitting amendments like a name change, dissolutions, or registering an agent with the Secretary of State.
To complete your annual renewal:
Renew your current registration through the MN Secretary of state website: https://www.sos.state.mn.us/
If you are unable to find your file number, please contact the office.
Renewals over 5 years expired MUST be submitted by paper. (see information linked below)
For units that have not registered with the state, please contact the MN PTA office
Complete your filing to the MN Secretary of State annually prior to December 31st.
