All PTAs in Minnesota must be filed with the MN Secretary of State under Chapter 317A, using the MN PTA Articles of Incorporation. This registration must be renewed on an annual basis. There is no fee to file a renewal if your PTA is in Good Standing with the state, however there are fees associated with other filings and delinquent renewals. Please confirm any additional submissions to Minnesota PTA prior to submitting them to the state as they affect your federal registrations, and other filings.

If your registration with the State of Minnesota has expired beyond 5 years, submit your renewal by paper. Complete the fillable form, print, sign and return to the state with your reactivation fee.
Your PTA will need to file an intiial filing with the Secretary of State's office, using the Articles of Incorporation provided by our office. Please reach out to us by phone, or email, and we will directly send you the current template and instructions for registering. There is a one time $70 initial registration fee to file by mail, which is the cheapest method.
PTAs without this registration may find it hard to change or open a bank account, receive doantions, and complete other nessecary filings. This should be completed as soo as possible to avoid any problems.
